Everyone take a look!! Kayla is finally riding on two wheels!! She was getting worried that she was to old
(she's 8) to ever learn to ride a bike. She was really close a couple of times a few years back, but she had a couple of nasty falls with one needing stitches. I had read a tip in a "Parents" magazine to take the training wheels off and to lower the seat
(if needed) so they could reach the ground easily and to push and glide to gain confidence and balance. We took Kayla's training wheels off last Saturday night and we practiced all evening. We did have some tears and falls and a few requests to put the training wheels back on and that "she'll be ready in a few more weeks", but slowly she started to get the hang of it. We didn't practice on Sunday and when she hopped on her bike Monday morning she just took off!! We went to the church parking lot Monday night and she just rode and rode!

Feeling quite proud of herself!!
Anna thought that she was ready so we thought that we could try to get Anna on two wheels as well. She has shown quite a bit of progress, but just as she starts to get her balance and she'll get distracted and look to the side and crash.

No Anna...look where you want to go!!
Miss Maiya had a great time riding "Thomas" around!
Happy Trails!!
